Washington, DC- Rep. Pete Olson (R-TX) today issued the following statementregarding NASA and SpaceX’s successful completion of their demonstration rendezvous mission of the Dragon spacecraft with the International Space Station:

“Congratulations to the NASA/SpaceX Team on the success of the Dragon mission to rendezvous with the International Space Station and safely return to Earth. Mission success in any space effort is a success for the industry. NASA’s support was essential for this mission. I look forward to watching SpaceX complete future missions as a part of its contract with NASA to deliver cargo to the International Space Station.”

The splashdown of the Dragon is the culmination of a 9 day mission, which began when the Dragon lifted off from Cape Canaveral Air Force Station in Florida, atop the Falcon 9 rocket. After successfully docking with the International Space Station, the Dragon re-entered the Earth’s atmosphere and deployed its parachutes to carry it safely to the surface of the Pacific Ocean today.
