News from the 16th Annual National Space Symposium

Top Space Leaders To Address Symposium
–NASA, NRO Heads Confirm Participation

Colorado Springs, Colorado (January 5, 2000) –
The leaders of NASA and the National
Reconnaissance Office will address the 16th
National Space Symposium, Space Foundation
officials announced today. Dan Goldin,
Administrator of the nation’s space agency and
Keith Hall, Director of the NRO will be featured
in “A Town Hall Meeting in Space” on April 6.

Joining Goldin and Hall in the open formatted
Town Hall will be Aerospace Industries
Association president John Douglass and a
prominent military space leader. Goldin will
also keynote the April 6th morning session.

The National Space Symposium, the premier space
policy and program forum, runs April 3-6, 2000
at the Broadmoor Hotel in Colorado Springs.

    The theme for the symposium is “Space — To Dare
    Greatly,” derived from Teddy Roosevelt’s “Dare
    Greatly” essay. The theme sets the stage for
    the symposium, which will focus on national
    space program and policy issues, with an eye
    towards the future of space activities.

    In addition to professional sessions, the symposium consists of 30,000-square
    feet of aerospace exhibits, an entertaining and enlightening Opening Ceremony,
    Corporate and Workforce Luncheons with industry guest speakers, and culminates
    with the Space Technology Hall of Fame Dinner.

    The National Space Symposium is presented by the
    Space Foundation, a leading national non-profit
