National Space Club Announces 2012 Goddard Memorial Dinner Keynote Speaker

Washington, DC – The National Space Club (NSC) proudly announces this year’s 55th Annual Robert H. Goddard keynote speaker Lisa Myers. Myers will speak during dinner at the industry’s premier gathering on Friday, March 30, 2012 at the Washington Hilton.

Lisa Myers, award-winning Senior Investigative Correspondent for NBC News, is a seasoned political analyst, and one of the most respected journalists in the country. Her groundbreaking reports on the war on terror, politics, and Iraq have triggered official investigations and influenced the political landscape. In the last two years, Myers and her team have won 4 awards, including an Emmy and an Edward R. Murrow award, for coverage of 9-11, terrorism and politics.

Myers can be seen on the top-rated NBC Nightly News with Brian Williams, Today, Meet the Press, MSNBC and CNBC.

The National Space Club is the foremost entity devoted to fostering excellence in space activity through interaction between industry and government, and through a continuing program of educational support.

Awards are presented at the Dinner to a number of outstanding individuals for accomplishments in spaceflight, engineering, science, management and education. The premier award, the Goddard Trophy, is presented to the individual, group or program deemed to have made the most significant contribution to space activity in the previous year.

The Dr. Robert H. Goddard Memorial Dinner is the major event of the Washington space calendar, first celebrated in 1958. Held each year in late March or early April, near the anniversary of the first successful flight by Dr. Goddard of a liquid-fueled rocket, it brings together nearly 2,000 members of the government, industry and educational space community.
