NASDA’s Earth Observation Center Receives ISO 14001 Third Party Certification

The National Space Development Agency of Japan (NASDA) has promoted
the acquisition of the ISO 14001 (environmental management systems)
standard, and so we are pleased to announce that NASDA’s Earth
Observation Center (Hatoyama-machi, Hiki-gun, Saitama Prefecture)
received third party certification to this standard on Jan. 26, 2000.
This marks the first time that one of the world’s major space agencies
has been awarded third party certification to ISO 14001.
