NASA’s Associate Administrator for Space Science to Share Vision with Southfield’s Glenn Levey Middle School Students

NASA’s Associate Administrator for Space Science Dr. Edward Weiler and astronaut Drew Feustel will visit Southfield’s Glenn Levey Middle School next week to share the agency’s vision for space exploration with students.

Glenn Levey Middle School in partnership with Southfield High School and Morris Adler Elementary School is one of 100 NASA Explorer School consortiums in the nation where the agency is cultivating the next generation of explorers. Students from all three schools will participate in the event.

    When: 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, April 6

    Where: Glenn Levey Middle School, 25300 W. 9 Mile Road, Southfield

“It is vital that we partner with our schools to create learning environments that will prepare our young people for the journey ahead,” said Dr. Weiler. “Our nation’s youth will inherit the challenge to explore Mars and beyond in the years to come. We must do what we can to engage them in the exciting possibilities the vision for space exploration holds for them.”

Dr. Weiler and astronaut Feustel will discuss our destiny as explorers, NASA’s stepping stone approach to exploring Earth, the Moon, Mars and beyond, and how space impacts our lives here on Earth.
