NASA’s student employees will end their summer with an
out-of-this-world experience. While most students are
preparing to head back to school, students who worked at
NASA facilities will talk with the crew aboard the
International Space Station.

Students at NASA’s Johnson Space Center, Houston and Goddard
Space Flight Center, Greenbelt, Md., will have the unique
opportunity to interact directly with Expedition 7
crewmembers, Commander Yuri Malenchenko and NASA Space
Station Science Officer Ed Lu. Additionally, students will
chat with Expedition 7 lead Flight Director John McCullough
and NASA’s Chief Scientist and astronaut Dr. Shannon Lucid.

The live downlink portion of the program will be broadcast
live on NASA TV beginning at 11:35 a.m. EDT, Wednesday. NASA
TV is located at AMC-9, transponder 9C, C-Band, located 85
degrees west longitude. The frequency is 3880.0 MHz.
Polarization is vertical, and audio is monaural at 6.80 MHz.

This event is part of NASA’s Teaching From Space Program.
The program enables educational opportunities using the
environment of human space flight. The program builds
partnerships with education communities to create learning
opportunities through the use of NASA research and
educational technology. Many NASA educational and employment
programs are available for students nationwide. These
programs give students the opportunity to work at NASA
centers with scientists and engineers.
