NASA-Stennis Story Opportunities – March 1, 2001

Apollo Astronaut Fred Haise and Stennis Exhibit to be Featured at Saenger:
The Biloxi Saenger Theatre is sponsoring a special screening of the movie
“Apollo 13′ at 7 p.m. on March 9. Apollo 13 astronaut and Biloxi native Fred
Haise, Jr. plans to attend. Stennis Space Center will provide exhibits
featuring the Apollo program as well as current projects under development
at NASA.

Saturday Campers to go on Mission to Mars: The next space mission at
StenniSphere’s Astro Camp Saturday will be “Mission to Mars” Saturday, March
17. Children ages 9-12 will study the solar system and our closest planetary
neighbor – Mars. Other Saturday sessions will be offered throughout the
spring. On April 21, campers can build and launch their own rockets. On May
19,
they will have an opportunity to go aboard Star Station OneTM as they study
the International Space Station. The media is invited to attend and cover
this program.

Stennis to Host Special Olympics: Stennis Space Center will host the Area
III Special Olympics on March 24. A pre-game picnic/fund raiser will be held
