NASA Stennis Space Center Director Adm. Tom Q. Donaldson V, USN, (Ret.) will
visit the Choctaw
Central Middle School in Choctaw, Miss., a NASA Explorer School, on April 6
at 10 a.m. to share
The Vision for Space Exploration with the next generation of explorers.

The event will be held at the Choctaw Central Middle School library located
at 150 Recreation Rd.,
Choctaw, Miss.

“As NASA implements the President’s vision for space exploration, it’s
important this next
generation of explorers understand the exciting opportunities this vision
holds for them,” said Adm.
Donaldson. “Partnering with our schools is one way to help create learning
environments that will
nurture these students who may one day explore Mars and beyond. We’re a
nation of explorers who
depend on our youth to turn this vision into reality.”

Adm. Donaldson will talk with students about our destiny as explorers;
NASA’s stepping-stone
approach to exploring Earth, the moon, Mars and beyond; how space impacts
our lives; and how
people and machines rely on each other in space.

Media interested in covering this event should contact Rebecca Strecker
before 3 p.m. April 5 at
(228) 688-3341, and plan on arriving at the Choctaw Central Middle School
library by 9:30 a.m.
