Unisys Corporation (UIS) today announced that NASA has selected the company to compete for task orders to provide a range of information technology products and services to federal government agencies under the new Solutions for Enterprise-Wide Procurement (SEWP) V contract.

Unisys was selected to compete for work on the SEWP V contract, which has a ceiling value of $20 billion over 10 years, including one five-year base period followed by one five-year option period. Unisys was chosen for work in two contract categories: Group A for computer-based systems; and Group D for networking, security, video and conference tools. Unisys is among 23 contractors selected by NASA under Group A and 33 contractors under Group D. Unisys had provided IT products and services on the predecessor SEWP IV contract.

SEWP V will give Unisys an opportunity to expand the range of products and services it provides to federal agencies. For example, the company will make its Unisys Stealth cybersecurity software and the Forward! by Unisys enterprise computing platform available on SEWP V.

The award-winning Unisys Stealth cybersecurity solution uses advanced data protection and encryption technologies to help organizations mitigate cybersecurity attacks and hacker incidents by rendering devices, data and end users undetectable on the network. Stealth creates secure “communities of interest” within an enterprise where only authorized users can access information. Users outside those communities cannot access the information or even know that it exists.

Forward! by Unisys is a breakthrough fabric-based platform that brings unmatched levels of mission-critical security, availability, scalability and predictable computing performance to workloads running on Intel-based servers. Each workload runs in a separate partition with dedicated resources, eliminating the resource contention that often accompanies standard virtualization. With its blend of mission-critical performance and open-systems flexibility, Forward! by Unisys is ideal for running secure cloud and big data workloads, boosting the performance of ERP applications such as SAP, consolidating data center resources, and migrating from legacy UNIX systems.

“For decades, SEWP has been one of the most widely used IT contracts in the federal government, and we are looking forward to continuing to provide our innovative technology solutions through SEWP V,” said Venkatapathi “PV” Puvvada, president, Unisys Federal Systems. “This new contract will open the door for Unisys to provide an even greater range of IT products and associated services to federal agencies.”
