Analytical Graphics, Inc. (AGI), the developer of commercially available software for the space, defense and intelligence industries, announced today that the NASA Goddard Space Flight Center Flight Dynamics Facility procured Orbit Determination Tool Kit (ODTK) for the Tracking and Data Relay Satellite (TDRS) constellation.

The TDRS constellation is made up of eight geosynchronous communication satellites that operate 22,300 miles above Earth. NASA and other U.S. government agencies use them for communications to and from independent spacecraft including other satellites, balloons, aircraft and the International Space Station.

“We are proud that NASA uses our software to perform orbit determination on these agency-critical satellites,” says Tom Johnson, AGI vice president of engineering. “ODTK was evaluated using strict performance requirements, and the software met or exceeded accuracy standards in all cases.”
Other NASA missions using ODTK operationally include GLAST, AQUA, AURA, TERRA and TRMM.
