NASA Marshall to present 2008 Honor Awards June 24

WHAT: On June 24, NASA’s Marshall Space Flight Center in Huntsville, Ala., will honor 244 members of its workforce, including 184 individuals and 60 teams — all of whom have made critical contributions to the nation’s space program and NASA’s ongoing mission of exploration and discovery over the past year.

Members of the local news media are invited to attend. Marshall Center Director David King will be available for media interviews following the morning ceremony.

WHO: Dr. Michael Ryschkewitsch, NASA chief engineer at NASA Headquarters in Washington, will provide a keynote address, and will present awards with Marshall Center Director David King.

WHEN: Marshall Center Director David King media availability – 9:15 a.m. NASA Honor Awards – 10 a.m. to approximately noon CDT Marshall Honor Awards – 2 p.m. to approximately 4 p.m.

WHERE: Marshall Center Building 4200, Morris Auditorium

TO ATTEND: News media interested in attending the event should contact Janet Anderson in the Marshall Center’s Public & Employee Communications Office at 256-544-0034 no later than 4 p.m. CDT, Monday, June 23. Media must report to the Redstone Arsenal Joint Visitor Control Center at Gate 9, Interstate 565 interchange at Rideout Road/Research Park Boulevard. Vehicles are subject to a security search at the gate. News media will need two photo identifications and proof of car insurance. Visitor parking is available in front of Building 4200 on the southwest side.
