NASA-Marshall Center looks to Shoals area to tap local resources for space exploration

What: NASA Small Business/Industry Showcase, featuring seminars on how to
do business with NASA’s Marshall Space Flight Center in Huntsville, Ala. The
goal of the event is to increase opportunities for small businesses and
industries in North Alabama and Southern Tennessee to work with the Marshall
Center. Co-sponsored by Marshall’s Procurement and Small Business Office and
the Shoals Chamber of Commerce, this marks the first industry outreach
campaign for NASA in the Shoals. Exhibits showing some of the most
technologically advanced products and resources used by NASA will be
featured. The event will culminate with a closing reception, open to the
public, from 4-5 p.m.

Who: NASA officials, an astronaut, prime contractors, subcontractors and
government dignitaries are scheduled to participate.

When: Thursday, April 5, 2001

8:15 a.m. to 5 p.m. CST
