Johnson Space Center Director Jefferson D. Howell, Jr. will be available to media at 4 p.m. CST Monday, Feb. 7, to discuss NASA’s fiscal year 2006 budget request.

Howell will field questions from media at JSC only. Interested media should contact the JSC newsroom by noon CST Monday to arrange credentials.

NASA is continuing to pursue the Vision for Space Exploration as outlined by President George W. Bush in January 2004. As the first step in that Vision, plans call for the Space Shuttle to return to flight this spring to complete assembly of the International Space Station. The Space Station provides a platform for research into long-duration human space flight in preparation for future flights back to the Moon, on to Mars and beyond.
