GREENBELT, Md. – “NASA: More Than You Imagine,” is the theme for the 49th Robert H. Goddard Memorial Symposium to be held March 30 – 31, at the Greenbelt Marriott located at 6400 Ivy Lane, Greenbelt, Md. The American Astronautical Society (AAS), with support from NASA’s Goddard Space Flight Center, Greenbelt, Md. sponsors this annual event.

This year’s symposium will feature senior representation from the White House, NASA Headquarters, Washington, and leaders in aerospace policy. “We believe this symposium will provide an up-to-date look at the current status of space exploration and generate some great dialog about the upcoming challenges,” says Dr. Harley Thronson, chairperson of the symposium planning committee. Invited guests also include Rob Strain, Director, NASA Goddard; William Wrobel, Director, NASA Wallops Flight Facility, Wallops, Va.; and Dr. Steve Squyres, Goldwin Smith Professor of Astronomy, Cornell University, Ithaca, N.Y.

Symposium sessions are open to all credentialed media. News media representatives are requested to confirm their plans to attend the event by contacting Jim Kirkpatrick of AAS at 703-866-0020.
