NASA Holds Media Briefing – New Technology Could Aid in the Interpretation of Mammograms, Ultrasounds, Other Medical Imagery

GREENBELT, Md. — NASA will host a media teleconference at 11:00am ET on Thursday, October 14, 2010, to discuss NASA’s software that has been incorporated into a new medical imaging that one day could aid in the interpretation of mammograms, ultrasounds, and other medical imagery.

NASA is hosting this event in conjunction with Breast Cancer Awareness Month. Panelists include:

  • Nona Cheeks, Chief of NASA Goddard Space Flight Center Innovative Partnerships Program Office
  • James C. Tilton, Ph.D., Computer Engineer, NASA Goddard Space Flight Center
  • Fitz Walker, president and CEO of Bartron Medical Imaging
  • Dr. Molly Brewster, a professor with the Division of Gynecologic Oncology, University of Connecticut Health Center
