NASA Glenn Hosts National Lab Day at Plum Brook Station and Lewis Field
To inspire and motivate students to pursue careers in science, technology, engineering and mathematics, or STEM disciplines, NASA’s Glenn Research Center will host National Lab Day at Plum Brook Station and Lewis Field for students to participate in a variety of tours, hands on activities and demonstrations that form the basis of our work.
Plum Brook Station will hold its first National Lab Day on Tuesday, May 19 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Approximately 90 students from Erie, Huron and Crawford counties will attend the event held in the Engineering Building, located at 6100 Columbus Ave., Sandusky, Ohio.
On Friday, May 22, Glenn’s main campus, Lewis Field, will host its third annual National Lab Day from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Over 300 students from Northeast Ohio will attend the event held in the Flight Research Building, also known as the hangar, located at 21000 Brookpark Road, Cleveland, Ohio.
The event at Plum Brook Station and Lewis Field includes world-class facility tours to expose students to new career fields; spacebots activities where students learn how NASA defines robotics; see how robotic systems are used in the space program; and discover the space agency’s plans for future robotic applications; and Science a’la Cart where students watch NASA technicians demonstrate science.
To arrange for security clearance, reporters should call Jeannette Owens at (216) 433-2990 or send an email to firstname.lastname@example.org.
For Plum Brook Station, call by 4:30 p.m. on Monday, May 18.
