NASA’s Glenn Research Center will host its first Computer Science Day on Friday, April 6 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Lewis Field at 21000 Brookpark Road in Cleveland for middle schoolers to explore STEM careers in computer and information science.

Sixty students from Citizen’s Academy East, Citizen’s Leadership Academy and E Prep Cliffs will participate in a hands-on workshop, an aerospace-themed show and tell, and an interaction with NASA technology and scientists.

“We want to share with students the exciting ways researchers at Glenn use programming and computing skills in their work,” said Jonathon Good, student trainee and program manager. “The students will also have the opportunity to learn basic computer science principles while taking part in our activities.”

Media interested in covering the event should contact Jeannette Owens by 5 p.m. on Thursday, April 5, to be cleared through security. For inquiries email or call 216-433-2990.
