NASA Announces Space Station Briefing

NASA managers at the Johnson Space Center, Houston will brief media about
the International Space Station (ISS) mission at 2 p.m. EST, Thursday, Feb. 17.
The briefing will be live on the Web and NASA TV. Reporters will be able to ask
questions from participating NASA centers.

Briefing participants:

  • Mark Geyer, ISS Manager for Operations and Integration
  • Annette Hasbrook, Expedition 10 Lead Flight Director
  • Dr. Don Thomas, ISS Program Scientist

Expedition 10 Commander and NASA Station Science Officer Leroy Chiao and Flight
Engineer Salizhan Sharipov, are expecting the arrival of a Russian cargo
spacecraft in early March. The crew is in the fourth month of their six-month
mission. They have completed one of two planned spacewalks and continue
scientific research.

NASA TV is available on the Web and via satellite in the continental U.S. on AMC-
6, transponder 9C, C-Band, at 72 degrees west longitude. The frequency is 3880.0
MHz. Polarization is vertical, and audio is monaural at 6.80 MHz. In Alaska and
Hawaii, NASA TV is on AMC-7, Transponder 18C, C-Band, at 137 degrees west
longitude. The frequency is 4060.0 MHz. Polarization is vertical, and audio is
monaural at 6.80 MHz.
