FOR NOVEMBER 15, 1999 – 12 NOON RELEASE

MOON EXPLORATION COMPANY APPOINTS CHIEF TECHNOLOGY OFFICER

BETHPAGE, N.Y. – Applied Space Resources, Inc. (ASR) is pleased to announce that Dallas Bienhoff has joined the commercial space exploration and development company as Chief Technology Officer and Vice President-Engineering. Mr. Bienhoff, Chief Engineer for the International Space Station (ISS) Crew Return Vehicle, has 25 years of aerospace engineering experience, including 17 years working on reusable space systems. He has also been a Systems Engineer on the X-33 spacecraft and co-lead the integration team for the ISS Zarya module with NASA. Mr. Bienhoff has a Master of Science in Engineering from California State University – Northridge.

As Chief Technology Officer, Mr. Bienhoff will be responsible for the development of the Lunar Retriever spacecraft, ASR’s lunar sample return mission.

“We are very pleased to have Dallas aboard,” says Denise Norris, ASR’s CEO/President. “The breadth and depth of his quarter century of aerospace experience makes him ideally suited to lead the engineering aspect of this project. He’s exactly the right person joining us at the right time, as we take the next step to a return to the Moon.”

“I’m excited about joining a team with a viable and exciting concept for making space pay for itself, and working on a mission that can bring lunar science into the home market,” says Bienhoff. “ASR’s founders have done the market research, and their mission concept is sound. I look forward to implementing that concept, because I believe ASR holds one of the keys to creating our future in space.”

Applied Space Resources is developing the world’s first commercial lunar mission. In 2002, the Lunar Retriever spacecraft will land at Mare Nectaris, an unexplored region of the Moon, and collect the first lunar samples for return to the Earth in over a quarter century. ASR will ensure mission profitability and promote awareness of the commercial potential of space by making part of the sample available to consumers and creating other mission-related commercial opportunities.
