Melbourne Air and Space Show Announces Performer Line Up
Officials with the National Air, Sea & Space Foundation today announced the first round of military and civilian acts that will perform at the Melbourne Air and Space Show sponsored by Northrop Grumman. Known as Central Florida’s largest spectator event, the 2014 show will move to a new home at Melbourne International Airport (MLB) and will take place Oct. 4-5, featuring the U.S. Air Force Thunderbirds.
“Hosting this year’s show at the Melbourne International Airport means our guests will get an enhanced experience that was not possible with a waterfront show,” said Bryan Lilley, president of the National Air, Sea & Space Foundation, organizer of the event. “We can now host a wider variety of performers, have static aircraft on display and offer views of the aircraft when they taxi, take off and land. This up-close experience adds a whole new facet to the event!”
The Air & Space Show will feature four hours of military and civilian performances. Acts announced today include the U.S. Army Silver Wings parachute jump team, as well as aerobatic demonstrations from Greg Connell, Gary Ward and Kent Pietsch, who lands his airplane on top of a moving motor home during his act.
Advance general admission tickets to the show are now on sale at www.airandspaceshow.com. Tickets are $10 (children ages 6-12) and $15 (ages 13+). The cost per ticket increases by $5 if purchased at the gate. Reserved parking is also available for purchase. For those seeking a VIP experience, tickets are on sale now for the Flight Line VIP Clubhouse, which offers private seating on the flight line, reserved parking, lunch, beverages, event program, private restroom access and more. From now through Sept. 1, Flight Line VIP Clubhouse tickets can be purchased online for $119, a savings of 20 percent. After Sept. 1, tickets will be $129 (Sept. 2-Oct. 3) and $150 on the day of the event.
