MDA To Develop Rendezvous and Docking Information Solution for Lockheed Martin

MacDonald, Dettwiler and Associates Ltd. (TSX: MDA – News), a provider of essential information solutions, announced today that it has signed an agreement to support Lockheed Martin in developing a new rendezvous and docking solution for use on future space exploration vehicles for NASA. This project is part of NASA’s Exploration Systems’ “Human and Robotic Technology” Program.

MDA’s real-time information gathering solution will enable NASA’s future Crew Exploration Vehicle and other Shuttle-follow-on vehicles to perform autonomous rendezvous, including proximity operations and docking. This solution will further bolster MDA’s capabilities to participate in future space exploration missions and in-orbit servicing applications.
