MDA Information Systems LLC (MDA) announced today that it was awarded the James S. Cogswell Outstanding Industrial Achievement award from the Defense Security Service (DSS), a federal security agency of the U.S. Department of Defense. MDA is one of 36 facilities selected for the award from approximately 13,500 cleared facilities representing both large and small companies.

The Cogswell Award selection criteria is rigorous and focuses on principles of industrial security excellence. Factors include establishing and maintaining a security program that far exceeds the basic National Industrial Security Program requirements; and providing leadership to other cleared facilities in establishing best practices while maintaining the highest standards for security. To be considered for the Cogswell Award, a facility must have two consecutive superior industrial security review ratings, which shows a sustained degree of excellence and innovation in their overall security program management, implementation and oversight.

“This award recognizes MDA’s commitment to maintaining the highest standards for security,” said Charles Helton, MDA’s Facility Security Manager. “The award is testament to the hard work of our security staff as well as the training and vigilance from all our employees.”

The award was presented at the annual National Classification Management Society (NCMS) training seminar on June 22, 2017 in Anaheim, California.
