ManTech International Corporation (MANT 40.83, +0.07, +0.16%), a leading provider of technical and engineering services and solutions vital to the nation’s interest and security, announced that it has received the NASA Goddard Space Flight Center (GSFC) 2010 Contractor Excellence Award. ManTech was recognized in the large business service provider category, an award it also received from NASA GSFC in 2000 and 2004. NASA also awarded ManTech the George M. Low award, its highest honor for quality and performance, in 2002.

The Contractor Excellence Award recognizes contractors who make a substantial contribution to the mission of NASA GSFC and who are committed to the philosophy of continuous improvement, as shown by their business practices. Those chosen to receive the award have shown evidence of performance, customer satisfaction, meeting schedules, controlling costs, quality and productivity improvements, management commitment to continuous improvement, human resource utilization and strategic planning, and long-term research and development.

“We would like to congratulate ManTech for being selected for this honor and acknowledge their outstanding technical achievements and dedication to quality and performance,” said Goddard Center Director Robert D. Strain. “The Contractor Excellence Award provides us with an opportunity to recognize contractors, such as ManTech, who make a substantial contribution to the mission of Goddard and are committed to the philosophy of continuous improvement.”

ManTech has been supporting NASA GSFC for more than 22 years as a principal contractor responsible for operating and maintaining key technologies used in space flight support, including comprehensive integration, environmental test engineering, and operations support for systems such as the Hubble Space Telescope and the James Webb Space Telescope. Under ManTech’s current mission assurance services contract with NASA GSFC, the company provides safety, reliability and quality engineering support to many NASA GSFC programs.

“ManTech is honored to receive this recognition from NASA’s Goddard Space Flight Center based on our consistent delivery of innovative technology and technical solutions,” said ManTech Chairman and Chief Executive Officer George J. Pedersen. “Commitment to the mission is a core ManTech value. We have a long history of supporting NASA’s mission, and we look forward to continuing support of GSFC’s mission through continued quality, innovation and technical excellence.”
