The Satellite Industry Association is pleased to announce that Leonardo, a global high-technology leader in aerospace, defense and security, has joined SIA.  Leonardo’s U.S.-based company, Leonardo DRS, supports custom end-to-end satellite communication (SATCOM) solutions for maritime, airborne and ground-mobile operations. The company is a leading provider of commercial satellite communication (COMSATCOM) services to the U.S. Federal Government and civil agencies, DoD as well as commercial non-government organizations.

Leonardo DRS engineers, manages and supports large-scale, mission-critical global communications by building the right solution with the right team. It is recognized for combining the strengths of top satellite operators, teleport operators, terrestrial transport providers, satellite equipment manufacturers, and skilled small business partners to build successful Complex Commercial SATCOM Solutions for customers.

“The Satellite Industry Association is pleased to announce that global satellite technology leader Leonardo is the Association’s newest member,” said Tom Stroup, President of SIA.  “Their longtime experience in the industry as well as their Federal Government and DoD COMSATCOM expertise will be a great benefit to the Association.”

“We are excited to join the long list of companies as part of the voice of the industry, helping satellite companies navigate and grow in complex environments,” said David Fields, Vice President and General Manager of Leonardo DRS’s Global Enterprise Solutions business unit. “We look forward in not only adding our experience, but to call upon the knowledge of this organization to continue our growth in the COMSATCOM market,” he said.
