Dear NanoRacks Shareholders, Customers, and Friends,
 
Coming from a tough few weeks for our friends in Houston, I write today with positive news of strength, resiliency, and growth.

First and foremost, we have seen true teamwork down in Houston after Hurricane Harvey. Friends and colleagues among Johnson Space Center and CASIS joined forces with our NanoRacks Houston team to begin clearing out and beginning home repairs. The space community is standing strong with one another. And I thank all of you who contributed to our GoFundMe which raised over $27,000 for the Houston folks that were affected.
 
Secondly, I wanted to note some key areas of growth. Mike Lewis, who has served as NanoRacks Chief Technology Officer (CTO) since 2015, will be taking on new management responsibilities as we continue our rapid expansion. Effective October 1, 2017, Mike will also serve as NanoRacks’ Chief Engineer, replacing Mike Johnson, who has moved on to the next phase in his career.
 
Under Mike Lewis’ leadership, we introduced our above-Space Station satellite deployment via Orbital ATK’s Cygnus spacecraft, created an upgraded version of our standard CubeSat deployer, and established a new level of quality control to make us the best in the business.
 
Additionally, I’m excited to announce that Sam Wald, a highly skilled senior engineer focused in habitat design and mechanical engineering, will be joining our team in Houston this October, and working under Mike Lewis’ leadership. Sam’s experience stretches across Harvard, Georgia Institute of Technology, MIT, NASA Langley, Johnson Space Center, and Marshall Spaceflight Center.  We welcome Sam as a great addition to our engineering workforce in Houston.
 
I want to emphasize that we are well within a new period of expansion as our commercial Airlock moves through production and manufacturing under the direction of Project Manager Brock Howe, and as the design phase begins for the Ixion Initiatives commercial habitat program under the NASA NextSTEPs Phase II award. This of course all comes on top of our full launch manifests for upcoming International Space Station launches, including dozens of CubeSats and internal research payloads. We have yet to see a quiet day at NanoRacks!
 
And last, but certainly not least, this weekend we at NanoRacks celebrated our 8th anniversary since the signing of our first Space Act Agreement in 2009. Hard to believe!
