Kosmas to Attend Florida Statewide Space Industry Summit

(Orlando, FL) – This Thursday, February 18, 2010, from 9:00 a.m. – 11:30 a.m., Congresswoman Suzanne Kosmas (FL-24) will attend the Florida Statewide Space Industry Summit at Orlando International Airport. The Space Summit, named “Strategies for Statewide Growth of Space Industry in Florida,” will feature state and local officials and industry executives to discuss the future of the space industry in Florida. Topics to be discussed include challenges facing Florida’s aerospace economy and NASA’s future in light of the President’s budget proposal.

Congresswoman Kosmas has worked tirelessly to support the space industry in Florida. She recently responded to the President’s FY 2011 budget proposal calling his plan for NASA “simply unacceptable.” She stressed the need for a robust space exploration program, which is critical to both our economy and for inspiring future generations to excel in science and technology for the 21st Century.
