Kistler Aerospace Engineer wins prestigious award

Kirkland, WA – Mr. Dave Cochran, Structures Manager for Kistler Aerospace Corporation, has won the 2000 Rotary
National Award for Space Achievement (RNASA) Stellar Award. He was presented with this prestigious award during a
dinner held at Space Center Houston on March 10th.


The Stellar Awards are highly regarded in the government, military and aerospace industry and are awarded to outstanding
individuals who have substantially contributed to the future of our nation’s space program. Mr. Cochran was nominated for this
award based on his exceptional performance as Structures Manager for Kistler Aerospace Corporation.


Dr. George Mueller, CEO of Kistler Aerospace Corporation, in recognizing and congratulating David, said:


“Mr. Cochran has been given an unprecedented level of responsibility for his age. His exceptional technical leadership in
directing a team of over 500 contract personnel has led to the realization of multiple revolutionary accomplishments in the
aerospace industry. In addition, Mr. Cochran oversees a contract base in excess of $250 million, which is extremely rare for
someone 29 years old. Through his enthusiasm and technical expertise, David has contributed greatly to the K-1 program, a
program that is revolutionizing launch vehicles and access to space. Kistler Aerospace Corporation is extremely proud of his
accomplishments.”


Nominations for this award are reviewed by a committee of distinguished scientists, engineers, managers, and academicians
who select the winners based on whose accomplishments hold the greatest promise for furthering future activities in space.
Stellar Award nominations for individual and team achievements are solicited each year from the government, military, and
others in the aerospace industry. Any individual or team whose efforts have contributed to the nation’s future in space was
considered.
