Joseph Anselmo Named Business Editor of Aviation Week & Space Technology

announced today that Joseph Anselmo has joined its staff as business editor.

Anselmo spent seven years with the Aviation Week Group in the 1990s, first
as a reporter with Aerospace Daily, then as space technology editor at AW&ST.
Most recently, he was a defense reporter at Congressional Quarterly and
managing editor of Washington Techway, a Washington Post Company magazine and
affiliate of Washingtonpost.com that focused on technology business issues.

“We’re very glad to have Joe’s reporting skills and insight back at
AW&ST,” said editor-in-chief Tony Velocci. “He has a proven knowledge base
and deep appreciation of the business issues of aviation, aerospace, defense
and technology, and we anticipate he will continue our strong tradition of
business reporting excellence.”

Anselmo received two top journalism awards from the Royal Aeronautical
Society, first in 1998 in the Space category for an in-depth investigation
into the validity of scientific benefits of the International Space Station
promised by NASA. And, in 1999 Anselmo and AW&ST senior editor Craig Covault
received top honors within the Breaking News category for revealing the inside
story of the loss of a $1 billion U.S spy satellite in a rocket explosion.

Anselmo is a graduate of Ohio University. He resides in Washington, D.C.
