12th Orbital STAR Communications Satellite Supported By Integral Systems

Integral Systems, Inc., (NASDAQ:ISYS) today announced a contract signing with Orbital Sciences Corporation (“Orbital”) to provide the KT Corporation with primary and backup satellite command and control systems for KOREASAT-6, a STAR satellite built by Orbital with Thales Alenia Space France acting as prime contractor. KT Corporation, a premier satellite communications company in the Asia Pacific region, will be the 29th GEO communications satellite owner using Integral Systems’ EPOCH Integrated Product Suite (IPS) software to ensure safe and efficient satellite operations. KOREASAT-6 is the 12th Orbital satellite supported by Integral Systems.

Under the terms of the contract, Integral Systems will provide an integrated solution leveraging its complete EPOCH IPS as well as the Compass software products of its subsidiary, Newpoint Technologies. EPOCH IPS is used by operators worldwide to support real-time and historical telemetry processing, commanding, data archiving, retrieval and display, and flight dynamics for both individual satellites and fleets, regardless of manufacturer. Newpoint Technologies’ Compass suite provides network and equipment management solutions for data, Internet, satellite, broadcast, telecom, and hybrid network applications.

“Orbital is pleased to once again team with Integral Systems as partners in delivering to our end customer, KT Corporation, satellite services for the Korean population,” said William Cook, KOREASAT-6 Program Manager. “Integral Systems’ role in delivering a high performance and quality ground system is key to the success of the K6 program. Orbital’s selection of Integral Systems demonstrates our confidence that they will meet the challenges associated with design and development of complex network designs.”

“Integral Systems is proud to be working with Orbital and in doing so, help contribute to the successful execution of the KOREASAT-6 program for KT Corporation,” said Mark Schmitt, Vice President of American Operations for Integral Systems’ Commercial Group. “With this program, we both welcome the addition of KT Corporation, a highly skilled and respected satellite operator, to our large and growing EPOCH user community and our continued relationship with Orbital, one of today’s leading satellite manufacturers.”
