GomSpace and SPACECIALIST Partners for Nano-Satellite Activities

GomSpace and SPACECIALIST have today signed an agreement to begin close collaboration in relation to business development and technology development for the nano-satellite and cubesat markets. As a consequence of the agreement SPACECIALIST will become GomSpace’s official representative in Israel.

Nano-satellites and Cubesats, i.e. small satellites with a typical mass of only a few kilograms, are becoming recognized in the market as important platforms for technological capacity building and demonstration of new technologies and applications. The founders of GomSpace have been involved in the cubesat community since before the first launches of cubesats in 2003 and today GomSpace offers a broad range of products and solutions for the nano-satellite segment. Managing Director Lars K. Alminde states: “we look forward to supporting Israeli nano-satellite activities and to develop a number of exciting opportunities identified between us and SPACECIALIST – being small businesses in our respective small countries means that we share a common mindset that value agility and close interaction with our customers”.

SPACECIALIST CEO, Meidad Pariente states: “we are excited to introduce to the growing Israeli space industry a dynamic and creative company such as GomSpace, providing state-of-the-art various components (on board CPUs, payloads and power systems), and we anticipate implementation of such hardware in current and future nano-satellite projects. We intend to develop future capabilities based on GomSpace excellent and affordable products and foresee a fruitful partnership”.

The partnering agreement is effective as of today and covers collaboration spanning from product distribution over technology scouting to collaboration in concept and technology development. Collaboration will focus on, but not be limited, to activities in Israel and Europe.
