GHGSat Selects Arianespace to Launch GHGSat-C1 Aboard Vega Launch Vehicle

The impact of climate change Climate is increasingly dominating the public debate. GHGSat believes that measurement of greenhouse gas emissions is critical to managing those emissions, and that high-resolution satellite measurements provide the accurate and cost-effective information that industrial and government decision-makers need to manage their emissions.

GHGSat launched its first satellite in June 2016, and is currently building two more using US$20M in series A funding raised to date.

In today’s announcement, GHGSat is contracting with Arianespace to launch our second high-resolution greenhouse gas detection satellite, GHGSat-C1, in 2019.  

GHGSat-C1 is a big step towards our planned constellation of satellites and will help position us closer to our goal of providing our customers with continuous monitoring of their facilities worldwide. 

Our demonstration satellite Claire, launched in 2016, has made over 3,000 observations of industrial facilities around the world for major industrial clients. 

GHGSat’s patented technology monitors emissions, more accurately, and at a fraction of the cost of comparable alternatives – and GHGSat’s technology can measure any site in the world, within days.

Better data means better control, and ultimately reduction of GHG emissions.
