Manchester, United Kingdom. Starchaser Industries Limited (Starchaser) kick starts a free-to-enter competition today with the ultimate prize – a free rocket flight to the very edge of space!

Following the maiden flight of the NOVA 2 rocket, scheduled for launch in September 2012 Starchaser will be fitting its Starchaser 4 rocket booster with its Mk3 NOVA capsule before launching over 100,000 feet, to the very edge of space. This advanced British rocketship will be capable of carrying two people; one seat will be reserved for Starchaser’s qualified pilot, the other seat together with the role of rocketship navigator is up for grabs.

The prize winner will be propelled upwards at more than 1000 mph, see the curvature of the earth and experience the weightlessness conditions of spaceflight. The prize also includes all necessary medicals, pre-flight training, ground transport, accommodations and travel to the place of launch which may be outside of the UK.

To enter the competition, all one has to do is explain in 50 words or less why they’d like to participate in such an experience. Minimum age of entrants is 21 years.

The competition will run from 10th November 2011 until the closing date which will be announced following the conclusion of Starchaser’s unmanned test flight programme next year. The winner will be selected at random from all valid entries received after the closing date.

“The successful completion of this mission will validate our rocket systems and pave the way towards higher altitude, mass market space tourism flights” added Starchaser CEO Steve Bennett.
