Former NASA Associate Administrator Lori Garver Joins DFI International

DFI International is pleased to
announce that Lori Garver, former Associate Administrator of NASA, has agreed
to become affiliated with DFI International as Director of Space Program
Development. In this adjunct capacity, Ms. Garver, the founder and President
of Capital Space, a Virginia-based consulting firm, and current President of
the American Astronautical Association, will assist DFI’s senior management in
strategic planning and business development activities related to the firm’s
corporate space practice.

Founded in 1984 by Dr. Barry Blechman and headquartered in Washington DC,
DFI International provides strategic planning, technology feasibility
research, and business development assistance, as well as merger, acquisition,
and strategic alliance support to financial institutions and Fortune 500
aerospace, defense, telecommunications, and information technology companies.

Until January 2001 Ms. Garver was the Associate Administrator for Policy
and Plans at the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA), where
she oversaw the analysis, development, and integration of NASA policies and
long-range plans, the NASA Strategic Management System, the NASA Advisory
Council, and History Division.

Prior to this appointment, Ms. Garver served as a Senior Policy Analyst
for the Office of Policy and Plans and as Special Assistant to Dan Goldin, the
NASA Administrator.

Before joining NASA, Ms. Garver was the Executive Director of the National
Space Society, a space advocacy organization. As Executive Director, she
served as the organizations’ primary spokesperson, appearing on national
television and regularly testifying on Capitol Hill.

Ms. Garver received her Masters degree in Science, Technology, and Public
Policy from the George Washington University in 1989, and her Bachelors degree
in Political Science and Economics from Colorado College in 1983. She resides
in McLean, VA with her husband, David Brandt, and their two children, Wesley
and Mitchell.
