Sensis Corporation today announced that Sean O’Keefe, Chancellor of Louisiana State University and A&M College and former National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) Administrator has been elected to its Board of Directors. O’Keefe has more than 25 years of business and aerospace experience in government, industry and academia.

“With Sensis’ air traffic control and air defense technology, and its mission to ‘save thousands of lives and millions of dollars,’ Sensis is actively making a difference worldwide,” said O’Keefe. “I am excited about joining Sensis and offering my experience to help forward this vision.”

Prior to his recent appointment as Chancellor of the Louisiana State University and A&M College, O’Keefe served as the Administrator of NASA from 2001 to 2005. As Administrator, he introduced a number of innovative management and budget reforms and, under his leadership, NASA achieved many significant mission triumphs including Cassini’s exploration of Saturn and its moons, the successful hypersonic test flights of the X-43A and the historic landing of the twin Mars Exploration Rovers, Spirit and Opportunity. Further, O’Keefe led the agency during the Columbia tragedy and was instrumental in establishing the Columbia Accident Investigation Board and embracing the Return to Flight recommendations.

“Sean O’Keefe’s experience and leadership in the aerospace industry are invaluable,” said Jud Gostin, Sensis Corporation CEO & Board of Directors Chairman. “He is a proven leader and innovator, and his guidance will help to ensure Sensis’ continued success.”

Prior to leading NASA, O’Keefe served under President George Bush as the Deputy Director of the Office of Management and Budget.

From 1996-2001, he was a Professor of Business and Government Policy at Syracuse University (SU) and Director of National Security Studies, a partnership of SU and Johns Hopkins University for delivery of education programs to senior government executives.

From 1993 to 1996, O’Keefe served as Assistant to the Senior Vice President for Research and as Dean of the Graduate School and Professor of Business Administration at Pennsylvania State University.

O’Keefe was Secretary of the Navy from 1992 to 1993 and, before that, was Comptroller and Chief Financial Officer of the Department of Defense (DoD). Before joining the DoD, he served on the staff of the United States Senate Committee on Appropriations, and was Staff Director of the Defense Appropriations Subcommittee. His public service began in 1978 upon selection as a Presidential Management Intern.

Gostin stated, “We are delighted that Sean has agreed to serve on our Board. He adds a wealth of aerospace experience and knowledge to an already formidable group of directors.” In addition to O’Keefe and Gostin, Sensis’ Board of Directors includes the following industry leaders:
