First Call for Papers for SEDS (Students for Exploration and Development of Space) International Conference SEDSIC ’07

SEDS (Students for Exploration and Development of Space), student chapter at Vellore institute of technology university is all set to host SEDSIC’07 (SEDS annual international conference) this September 22-23.This is the first time in the history of SEDS that an Indian university is being given an opportunity to conduct the event. The conference is endorsed by American Astronautial Society(AAS) and is the first of its kind in India.

The conference will include career talks and guidance from experts who have excelled in the field of astronomy and aerospace. Relax and explore the stars at the Star Party. The conference also includes a special demonstration of HAM by ‘Upagrah Amateur Radio Club’ from ISRO Satellite Centre (ISAC), India. A preliminary Design Review of SEDSAT-2, a remote sensing CUBESAT project undertaken by SEDS-EARTH is a part of the conference.

The conference also features a variety of student competitions intended to bring out the best of space zealots. An international level paper presentation and a rover design competition are two such events. The winner of the rover design competition will receive a half tuition scholarship to the International Space University (ISU). Students also compete to design and launch a model rocket propulsion system.

SEDS VITU henceforth calls for papers pertaining to the topics as put up in the website.The last day for students to send a letter of intent for the rover design competition is july 13th.
