exactEarth Ltd., the data services subsidiary of COM DEV International Ltd. (TSX: CDV), today announced that it has entered into agreements with two major government maritime agencies to provide its space-based Automatic Identification System (S-AIS) service, exactAIS(TM), on a paid trial basis. Under the agreements, exactEarth will provide the agencies with S-AIS data feeds and value-added services for a limited time commencing with the launch of its first operational satellite expected in late summer.

“Our trial program has proven to be an attractive option for customers who wish evaluate our premierspace-based AIS service for a relatively small financial commitment as they take any steps necessary to secure budgetary funding,” said Peter Mabson, President of exactEarth. “We are engaged in advanced discussions with other countries and expect to announce additional trial agreements shortly.”

exactEarth is offering its exactAIS trial program to a limited number of competent maritime authorities around the world. A total of five countries have either signed on for the program or completed trials based on the exactEarth’s NTS nano-satellite which has been in orbit for the past two years.
