Edward C. ‘Pete’ Aldridge, Jr. to Speak at Global Air & Space 2001

Under Secretary of Defense for
Acquisition, Technology, and Logistics, Edward C. “Pete” Aldridge, Jr. who was
confirmed by Congress just yesterday will deliver the luncheon speech today,
11:30-12:30, Wednesday, 9 May 2001 at Global Air & Space 2001 International
Business Forum and Exhibition. Mr. Aldridge is past president of the American
Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics, the planning organization for the
conference. He is also former Secretary of the Air Force, and CEO of The
Aerospace Corporation.

Mr. Aldridge stated that he is very pleased that he will have the
opportunity to outline his plans during Global Air & Space 2001. Global Air &
Space 2001 takes place May 7-9, 2001 at Regency Ballroom at the Hyatt Regency
Crystal City in Arlington, VA.

Brig. Gen. David A. Deptula, USAF, Director Quadrennial Defense Review is
the morning keynote speaker. A morning panel session moderated by Maj. Gen.
Michael Hough, JSF Program Director will focus on the Joint Strike Fighter
Program and Its International Partners. Distinguished panelists include Frank
Statkus, Vice President, JSF Program, The Boeing Company; Tom Burbage, General
Manager, Joint Strike Fighter, Lockheed Martin Aeronautics Company; Robert
Cea, Vice President, F119/JSF Programs, Pratt & Whitney; Capt. Simon Henley,
RN, Project Manager, JSF United Kingdom, Jon Schreiber, Director, JSF
International Programs; Mearl Eismeier, Manager, JSF Program, GE Aircraft
Engines.

A number of afternoon keynote speakers are scheduled in the afternoon,
including Howard A. Rubel, Vice President, Goldman, Sachs & Co.; Dr. Sheila
Widnall, President, AIAA; John W. Douglass, President & CEO, Aerospace
Industries Association.

A final panel session entitled “Where Are These Global Dynamics Taking the
Industry?” is moderated by Karl Krapek, President & COO, United Technologies
Corporation. Distinguished panelists include: Kent Kresa, Chairman of the
Board, President & CEO, Northrop Grumman Corporation; Daniel Burnham, Chairman
of the Board & CEO, Raytheon Company; Vance Coffman, Chairman of the Board &
CEO, Lockheed Martin Corporation; John J. Hamre, President & CEO, Center for
Strategic & International Studies.

Participants representing the highest levels of industry and government
from around the world convene at Global Air & Space 2001 to discuss and debate
industry trends, government policies and regulations, market conditions,
