eCom: NASA Project to Focus on Security

Today R. C. Wilson,
President of eCom.com, Inc. , announced that
the company’s upcoming demonstration of Z Box(TM) technology at NASA’s Kennedy
Space Center will focus on the protection of space shuttle program assets.
Because of heightened security concerns throughout the country, the company is
striving to have the project completed in time for the launch vehicle
processing of the December 2nd shuttle launch.

eCom previously released news of its discussions with NASA officials
concerning use of the Z Box(TM) for pad perimeter surveillance and
nondestructive failure analysis.
It has now been decided that this first
application of the Z Box(TM), the product of eCom’s Zyndecom joint
venture, will address security issues in general and pad perimeter
surveillance in particular.

“Obviously it is to our company’s advantage to be able to demonstrate the
capabilities of our product line within the high profile environment of the
space program,” said Wilson.
“However, it will be much more rewarding if we
can contribute to our nation’s security at the same time.”

Following the catastrophic events of September 11, the company is testing
security applications for the Z Box(TM), DryIce(TM) and Syndeos(TM)
technologies.
Syndeos(TM) software, which synchronizes independently-
developed software and hardware systems, DryIce(TM) software, with its unique
high-compression and encoding capabilities, and the Z Box(TM), which combines
both technologies, can all be used to enhance homeland security.
Development
of these ideas will inevitably lead to the marketing of numerous
defense-oriented products.

In separate news, DryIce(TM) software caught the attention of the recent
Intelligent Processing and Manufacturing of Materials 3rd International
Conference.
The Conference press release noted that eCom had announced
that DryIce(TM) software had produced a breakthrough in still image
compression while adding document encoding for security purposes.
