DynCorp Wins Johnson Space Center Base Support Contract

Technical Services Unit Will Support Critical Astronaut Training and Mission Control Tasks

DynCorp, a $1.8 billion information
technology and management & operations solutions company, announced that its
subsidiary, DynCorp Technical Services (DTS) LLC, was awarded a five-year,
$148 million contract to provide base operation support services to the
National Aeronautics and Space Administration’s (NASA) Johnson Space Center
(JSC), Ellington Field and the Sonny Carter Training Facilities in Houston,
Texas.
Under the contract, DTS will maintain the Mission Control Center’s
backup power supply and support the unique training facilities for the
International Space Station and Space Shuttle programs, Neutral Buoyancy
Laboratory and other laboratories.
DTS personnel will also perform various
maintenance and operations tasks ranging from environmental compliance
planning to transportation, logistics, facilities maintenance and management.

NASA currently contracts with DTS for aircraft maintenance and imagery
support.
The aircraft maintenance contract covers scheduled and unscheduled
maintenance and airframe and engine alterations and upgrades for over 80% of
NASA’s aircraft fleet.
The contract was recently extended until February 28,
2004.
DTS also acts as a subcontractor on the IMPASS contract to provide
digital, still and motion imagery products services to JSC.
