Date set for Launch of the H-II Launch Vehicle No.8 carrying the Multi-functional Transport Satellite (MTSAT)

The National Space Development Agency of Japan (NASDA) previously postponed launch of the H-II Launch
Vehicle No.8 due to problems with the first stage liquid hydrogen depletion sensor and the second stage control
battery that occurred during work to prepare for the launch. It is now expected that measures to deal with these
problems will be completed by early November.

It has thus been decided to launch the H-II Launch Vehicle No.8 carrying the Multi-functional Transport Satellite
(MTSAT) on Nov 15, 1999 (Mon), with the launch time being sometime between 16:29 and 17:54 (JST).
