CSCA Canadian Space Policy Symposium Announces Program Details

The Canadian Space Commerce Association (CSCA), Canada’s national space industry association, today unveiled several important program highlights for their annual CSCA Canadian Space Policy Symposium 2017 (CSPS17), taking place November 9, 2017 at the University of Ottawa.

The symposium will provide insights from across the space industry involving agency, research, corporate and policy thought leaders including:

  • Sylvain Laporte, Canadian Space Agency President  as the keynote speaker;
  • New engagement by the Space Advisory Board; and
  • Euroconsult Canada will present on market prospects of earth observation.

“The CSCA is honoured to have Mr. Laporte as the keynote speaker,” said Michelle Mendes, CSCA Executive Director and President. “As a highly engaged sector leader and within the context of the currently active space policy discussions, Mr. Laporte’s insight will be a program highlight.”

The Space Advisory Board members will attend to provide an update to attendees on recent activities and to consult with participants. This is the first opportunity for consultation with almost the full complement of Board members, including Kate Howells, the Board’s most recent addition. 

Euroconsult Canada will be presenting on earth observation and what to expect in the next decade, as well as moderating a panel on small satellites and disruptive technologies with a panel of key players.

The CSCA Canadian Space Policy Symposium 2017 will engage industry, academia, government and other stakeholders working to support the long-term success of Canadian space sector. Participants will address developments to date concerning Canada’s future in space and what can be done, in practical terms, to grow the Canadian space program on a global scale.
