Converged Media Through Space — Panel Focus at Space Business Forum: New York

Business and investment opportunities enabled by space and space-based assets across the spectrum of new and emerging media forms will be the focus of a panel at the upcoming Space Business Forum: New York.  “Converged Media- A Natural for Space,” will bring together senior officials from companies whose cutting edge media/telecom services are made possible through space technology. The inaugural Space Business Forum: New York is designed for Wall Street analysts, investment bankers, institutional advisors, and high-risk insurers to engage in meaningful dialogue with industry leaders. This one-day, exclusive event is scheduled for Wednesday, June 18 at the Hilton New York Hotel in New York City.

Moderated by Mr. Hoyt Davidson, managing member, Near Earth, LLC, the panel will take place at 3:50 p.m.  Panelists include Mr. Mike Cook, senior vice president, Hughes Network Systems; Mr. Andrew Gregor, vice president business development and treasurer, Sirius Radio; Mr. Stuart Jacob, senior vice president, programming and partnerships, CBS Outernet; and Mr. Matthew M. O’Connell, chief executive officer, president and director, GeoEye.

Other panel topics include “Sector Performance, Trends, and Expectations: Space, Aerospace, Defense, and Defense Electronics,” “Government Acquisitions — Where Space Dollars are Flowing in Aerospace,” “Hedgefunds and Private Equity,” “Climate Change and Green Energy: Meeting the Challenges with Space Technology,” and “On the Record – CEOs and CFOs Talk Business.” Recent additions to previously announced speakers and panelists include Mr. Phillip McAlister, acting director, studies and analysis, Office of Program Assessment and Evaluation, NASA, and Mr. Gary E. Payton, deputy under secretary of the Air Force, United States Air Force Headquarters.

Featured speakers include The Honorable Newt Gingrich, former speaker of the United States House of Representatives and chairman of the Gingrich Group, Ms. Joanne M. Maguire, executive vice president, Lockheed Martin Space Systems Company, and Francois Auque, chief executive officer, EADS Astrium.
