The fifth high-level Conference on EU Space Policy, ‘Building Up a Global Tool for Global Challenges’, takes place on 29-30 January at the Charlemagne building of the European Commission in Brussels.

The conference will be a unique opportunity to examine and debate the state of the space programmes launched by the EU, such as Galileo for satellite navigation and Copernicus for Earth observation, and to look to the future of this key area of EU policy, with a large and diverse range of decision-makers from European institutions, leading national personalities, the presidents and CEOs of numerous companies operating in the European space sector, and representatives of civil society and of space application-users.

This conference benefits from the support of the Vice-President of the European Commission, Antonio Tajani, and the Director General of ESA, Jean-Jacques Dordain, and is under the patronage of the President of the European Commission, Jose Manuel Barroso, the President of the European Council, Herman Van Rompuy, and the President of the European Parliament, Martin Schulz.
