Commercial Spaceflight Federation Mourns the Passing of Neil Armstrong

Washington D.C. – The Commercial Spaceflight Federation joins the world in mourning the passing of Neil Armstrong – a great American and an exceptional human being.

“Neil Armstrong, the first human to set foot on the Moon, was not just a hero; he was and will always be a veritable icon,” said CSF President Michael Lopez-Alegria. “His name and his deeds will be remembered not for a decade or even a generation, but rather will be forever stitched into the fabric of human history. Our thoughts are with his family and others close to him.”

“While Neil Armstrong will always be remembered for walking on the Moon, no less impressive is the modest, honorable and dignified manner in which he lived his life after NASA,” said CSF Chairman Eric Anderson. “He truly embodied the best of humankind.”
