Comment by Rep. Dave Weldon on today’s release of the U.S. Aerospace and Aviation Industry: a State-by-State Analysis

“Ensuring America, and in particular Florida, remains a leader in aerospace is one
of my top priorities.  To that end,  I authored legislation creating the Commission on the
Future of the U.S. Aerospace Industry.  

Today’s report–a first of many reports to come from
the commission–is encouraging.  Florida’s aerospace and aviation industry ranks 4th in
employment with highly competitive wages.  By strengthening ties between government,
industry, and academia, Florida will continue to be a leader in the space
industry.  

I commend Commission Chairman Bob Walker for the work he and his fellow
commissioners and their hard working staff are doing,” said  Rep. Dave Weldon.
