HOUSTON – Today’s successful flight test of the Ares 1-X rocket is an important milestone in America’s space program. It demonstrates the launch and control capabilities of a next-generation vehicle that lays the foundation for NASA’s continuing exploration of space, in collaboration with its international partners. The technology and systems in the Ares 1-X vehicle apply to any future heavy-lift rocket which will play a key role in future space missions. We congratulate NASA and everyone involved in today’s successful test flight.
