Challenger Centers Hosts Google+ Hangout with Virgin Galactic and Galactic Unite

WHAT: Challenger Center for Space Science Education (Challenger Center) will host a Google+ Hangout with Galactic Unite, Virgin Galactic and several Challenger Learning Centers around the country. The event will include interaction with both Virgin Galactic Future Astronauts and Virgin Galactic representatives and will give students from five Challenger Learning Centers around the country the opportunity to interact with the Virgin Galactic team. Following the hangout, the Virgin Galactic representatives will participate in Challenger Center’s simulated “Return to the Moon” mission with students in Downey, Calif.

The Hangout will be carried live at www.challenger.org/galactichangout

Virgin Galactic participants include:

– Virgin Galactic Future Astronauts – Loretta Whitesides, Ron Rosano and Edwin Sahakian
– Propulsions Design Engineer – Marissa Good
– Vice President of Special Projects – Will Pomerantz

The hangout will be hosted by Kathleen Meehan Coop, Challenger Center’s Vice President of Education. The following Challenger Learning Centers will participate:

– Challenger Learning Center at the Columbia Memorial Space Center
– Challenger Learning Center of Louisville, KY
– Challenger Learning Center of New Mexico – Unser Discovery Campus
– Challenger Learning Center of Tallahassee
– University of Tennessee at Chattanooga Challenger STEM Learning Center
