Ottawa, ON, November 1 2006 ? The Canadian Space Society?s annual Space Summit is Canada?s only student and professional conference dedicated exclusively to space exploration and development. This year, it will be held at Carleton University on November 18th and 19th.

The event is intended to help students and industry professionals alike develop a more complete understanding of Canada?s role in space exploration, as well as to develop a collective vision for its future. Student delegates will get the opportunity to explore new space technologies, meet industry leaders, and network with their peers in related fields.

In addition to numerous workshops and presentations, this year?s summit will also host the first national meeting of the newly established Canadian Space Chamber of Commerce (CSCC), as well as the National Space Awareness Workshop (NSAW) hosted by the Canadian Alumni of the International Space University. A tour of the Canadian Space Agency?s David Florida Laboratory has also been arranged for interested delegates.

Among the guest speakers attending are Chris Hadfield, Canadian Space Agency Astronaut; Rick Tumlinson, Founder of the Space Frontier Foundation; and Robert Richards, Co-founder of the International Space University and President of Optech Space Division, as well as many more.

Registration is now available at the conference website, www.css.ca/summit
