Boeing Targets Tuesday For Its First Delta IV Launch

Boeing [NYSE: BA] officials today delayed the
first launch of the Boeing Delta IV, which was scheduled to launch a
commercial telecommunications satellite for Eutelsat on Saturday, Nov. 16
from Cape Canaveral Air Force Station (CCAFS), Fla.

The launch team is working to resolve a potential issue at this time and
will determine by Monday their launch readiness for Tuesday, November 19.

A press conference will be held today at 3:00 p.m. EST at the DoubleTree
Hotel, 2080 N. Atlantic Ave., Cocoa Beach, Fla. Officials from Boeing,
Eutelsat, Alcatel Space, the U.S. Air Force, and the Pratt & Whitney will
provide details on the delay as well as information on the Delta IV W5
mission.

The Delta IV rocket scheduled to deploy the W5 spacecraft is a Medium+ (4,2)
configuration of the five-member Delta IV family of rockets developed by
Boeing Expendable Launch Systems, a major program of Boeing Integrated
Defense Systems.
