Atlanta-Area Students To Talk Live With Mission Control

HOUSTON — Mission Control, the famed historic Houston home of United States human spaceflight, will make several special calls to Atlanta-area schools in coming weeks. During the calls, students will have the unique opportunity to ask questions of experts and astronauts who monitor and support the International Space Station.

Media are invited to attend each of the sessions. Each event will be hosted from 11:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m. EDT. The schools involved and dates include:

— April 18 – Lanier Middle School, Sugar Hill, Ga.
— April 25 – Ball Ground STEM Academy, Ball Ground, Ga.
— May 9 – Memorial Middle School, Atlanta, Ga.

The connections are made possible by NASA’s Digital Learning Network at the Johnson Space Center in Houston, which regularly brings NASA scientists, engineers and astronauts into classrooms nationwide via virtual connections.
